February 6, 2025, London, England: Trinasolar International System Business Unit (“ISBU”), a global platform for utility-scale solar and storage project development, investment, and operations, has announced the acquisition of a 40MW/80MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project from Source Galileo, a leading European renewable energy developer. Trina Solar ISBU (“Trina Solar ISBU”) is the downstream project development arm of Trina Solar Co., Ltd. (SHA: 688599). The transaction marks a significant milestone in Source Galileo’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition while establishing a foundation for future collaboration between the two companies.
Located to the South of Aberdeen City Centre in Scotland, the Rigifa BESS project is designed to deliver reliable grid support and energy storage capacity, playing a critical role in enhancing the flexibility of the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure. The project is fully consented to and strategically positioned to contribute to the UK’s clean energy goals.
